Difficulty: Medium
Route: 14 km.
Hut height: 1,880 masl.

The mountain hut is located on Mount "Tronador", between the "Castaño Overa" and "Alerce" glaciers. In its vicinity is the Glaciological refuge. It is named in honor of "Otto Meiling", explorer and pioneer of everything related to the mountain in Bariloche.

Its view is incredible, one of the most beautiful known: "Pampa Linda", "Paso de las Nubes" (Pass of Winds), López, Bonete and Catedral among others mounts.

The access trail begins in the "Pampa Linda" area and after several minutes of walking with little slope we reach the "Castaño Overa" river, which we cross by a walkway.

The refuge can be connected through an incredible glacier hike with the other refuge in the Tronador, the Refuge Agostino Rocca.

The Mount "Tronador" has a height of 3478 masl and its main peak was first ascended in 1931 by "German Claussen", a argentinean. From here we can see the "Lanín" Volcano about 150 km to the north, "Nahuel Huapi" Lake, the Mount "Anecón Grande" (on the Patagonian plateau), to the south the mounts: Piltriquitrón, Tres Picos, the Turbio Range, etc.
